Gun Lake Tribe of Pottawatomi Indians will have a private grand opening of government campus and new government office at 2872 Mission Drive, Shelbyville, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.
The grand opening is not open to the public.
The Gun Lake Tribe has built a state-of-the-art office complex to house its governmental operations on its ancestral homelands of Bradley. The government campus is made up of five separate buildings. Each provides space for administration, education, finance, housing, information technology, public works, tribal court, tribal council and public safety.
All five buildings are 110,000 square feet of aggregate office space. Four of the five buildings feature geothermal energy providing energy savings for heating and cooling.
The grand opening ceremony will feature speakers representing the Tribe, SenecaTerra (owner’s representative), Wayland Township, Integrated Architecture and Granger Construction. A ribbon cutting, grand entry and lunch will follow.
