The Dorr Township Library Board appreciates everyone who came out and voted on the library millage last Tuesday, especially all those who voted yes.
We are very disappointed that the millage failed and the library does not have a secure funding source to continue operating at the current level.
The library board and the library director will examine the budget to determine what programs, services and materials will be cut to keep the library open as long as possible. In order to do this, we need input from the community.
Please consider attending a library board meeting (at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of every month at the library) Aug. 19 to give your input or by sending an e-mail to dorrlibraryboard@gmail.com with your thoughts on what the essential programs and services are for you and your family.
Some of the programs and services to consider might be books, maker space kits, DVDs, e-books through Libby or Overdrive, books through interlibrary loan, craft programs, art programs, story time, kids Zooming, access to Ancestry.com, Gale Courses, or the Vitality packs.
If you’re interested in helping with out next millage campaign, please send an e-mail to dorrlibraryboard@gmail.com with your name, phone number, and email address and we will contact you when we try again.
