Snowmobiler avoids train, but crashes

A snowmobiler in Wayland Township Saturday night crashed his vehicle besides the railroad tracks because of the approach of an oncoming train.

The Wayland Fire Department reported that firefighters responded to a report the snowmobiler was traveling on the tracks and attempted to get off the due to an oncoming train, but crashed, noting “No contact was made with the train.”

There were no reports of the condition of the driver of the snowmobile.
