Public Safety Beat: Wayland schools briefly on lockdown

Wayland Union Middle School and Wayland Union High School were put under a partial
lockdown/shelter-in-place just after 10 a.m. Wednesday because of the presence of a suspicious individual in the middle school parking lot.

Wayland Union Middle School administration officiasls contacted Wayland City Police, who responded quickly. The suspect was apprehended and the partial lockdown was lifted at 10:28 a.m.

City police arrested the suspect for larceny of items from several vehicles in the parking lot.

All school resumed and there were no reports of anyone harmed..
