Public safety depts. work together on traffic crash

The Wayland and Yankee Springs fire departments Tuesday evening were dispatched to the 3300 block of Patterson Road for a two-vehicle accident involving multiple patients. 

Crews arrived on scene and began patient care and extrication. Ambulance crews from Plainwell, Thornapple, and Wayland all assisted with patient care and transportation. West Michigan AirCare transported one patient to a local hospital. 

Police agencies including Allegan County Sheriff’s Department, Gun Lake Tribal Police, Michigan State Police and Wayland Police all assisted either on scene or with road closures to ensure personnel on scene remained safe. 

A local fire department spokesperson commented on Facebook, “Thank you to all the resources mentioned along with Allegan County Dispatch. Great example of multiple agencies working together to achieve the highest possible outcome.”
