It was a somewhat unwelcome late winter surprise Thursday morning when many people living in northeast Allegan. County awoke to about two to three inches of the white stuff, challenging the notion that this winter season has been one of the mildest and snowless in memory. Though it wasn’t much in this area in terms of inches, the quick-hitting storm wreaked havoc north of I-96, slowing traffic and closing schools.
