Wayland High School’s National Honor Society students rolled up their sleeves this week at the Rabbit River Trail park in Wayland to spruce things up after a long winter. Students raked leaves, cleared trails, laid bark on the trail and painted deck platforms. Community service is an important aspect of the NHS, as well as maintaining a high grade point average. NHS students at Wayland have accumulated 1,271 service hours in community projects, including Hallowed Halls (community trick-or-treating), Letters to Veterans (delivered to local vets), Santas Elves (for elementary students), Senior Citizen Prom (at Green Acres in Wayland), Project HOPE, and a campus cleanup as well.
