Ranger Rick: Climate change claims are about power, money

Brrrr… no, I’m not going to go into a global warming tirade.  Well, maybe a little bit.

Isn’t it ironic with all the global cooling, global warming, global climate change, etc. it is going back to the 1970s for cold temperatures when scientists came to the “consensus” global cooling was a given and a Mini-Ice Age was on the horizon.  Since the cold is across the U.S. and not just the northern areas, maybe the global cooling will gain traction again.  Weeee!, we can start all over and go from one to another.

Of course, it will cool, warm, and finally global climate change will be declared. so it covers all changes.  Déjà vu!  Don’t you recognize the scam?  It has nothing to do with weather or climate —  it is about power and money and who will get screwed out of money and what countries will continue to pollute unabated.  Logic and common-sense are out the window.

I guess Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels was right, if you tell a big enough lie over and over enough times, people will believe it.  So goes the climate debate.  And remember this, consensus is not science, it is propaganda.

Who will come to the rescue for Wayland High School football?

The most recent news of the firing or resignation (depending on what story you’ve heard) of Wayland football coach Mike Doupe, one has to wonder what Wayland can do to get another varsity head coach.  I know in the past it has been difficult to get a coach and teaching or administration job in the system together.

Some high schools have outside coaching staffs, where they don’t teach or even know any of the players until the 1st practice.  They don’t teach nor are part of the administration, so they have no loyalty to the school system other than their coaching position.  I don’t think that is a good idea, but it does work at some schools.

When I was in high school, the football coaching staff were all teachers within the system.  They knew who was who and had kids play for them all through the years.  They knew strengths and weaknesses of each player and how to improve their play.

I have nothing but respect for high school coaches, especially football coaches.  Successful programs demand hours of video, strength training supervision, practice and game time — all taking them away from loved ones or significant others.  My love was always football and I saw how much time and effort each coach put forward daily to improve their teams.

Tim Gibson was a good example of a coach who had kids believing in themselves and the program, knowing they could win if they all played as a team.  When they played East Grand Rapids in the semi-final game in 2002, they faced the eventual state champ.  They lost, but weren’t blown out like most teams facing EGR that year.

I don’t know the story about coach Gibson leaving, but as I was told, it was his decision.  Wayland needs another Gibson.  But I doubt the stars will align to offer an experienced coach the head coaching job and a position on staff.  If Wayland had a winning program, like Hopkins, would they appreciate it like Hopkins?

Dems in disarray and chances of upending Trump slipping away

On the presidential status front, it is a coordinated coup to get Trump by the House and lying, fake media.  They align with the Joseph Goebbels propaganda machine.  And the Democrats can’t stand who they have to pick from so a few others are sniffing around to upset the apple cart.

Mrs. Clinton just won’t go away and be content to count her millions of bribery money from the “Clinton Foundation” (also known as the Bank of Clinton).  If she really is serious, please bring it on.  I’d love to see another night of gnashing of teeth and crying over the voting results.  You were beaten before by a non-politician.  I don’t think the Democrats want you back just to lose again.

Of course, you have Michael Bloomberg testing the pool temperature, and with his billions, he doesn’t need the Democrat Party money.  He looks and acts like an aloof “do as I say, not as I do type of person,” so it would be interesting to see how he could upset the apple cart.  I’m thinking it will be somebody who’s not a poll leader now. It will not be Pete (he doesn’t have the African-American support), it won’t be Bernie (too nutty and old) or Liz Warren (too kooky and weird).

I think Biden will be hamstrung with his obvious creepiness and doing what Trump is accused of doing, but he actually did it on camera.  His son Hunter will be on the hot seat soon.  Billions from Ukraine and China, for what?  I think the best the Democrats could hope for is the next election.

But they have to keep hammering Trump so to keep him in the news in an unflattering light.  Because he is winning in getting things done, they know their only chance is to bring him down to their level.  Stealing from hard working Americans in the form of taxes is the only playbook Democrats have.  But they know how to use your money better than you do!
