Ranger Rick: Freedom is never an option in socialism

People have better everything; more money, better health, better housing, more education and live longer now than ever, but are unhappier than any time since data collection began, especially young people.

What are the reasons?  The theory of a small federal government was best to keep freedoms safe and thriving and it was so until the 1960s, when government expansion began in earnest.  Non-governmental institutions — Lions Clubs, Kiwanis International, Rotary International, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, bowling leagues, music societies, churches -provided Americans with friends and to provide the neediest Americans with help.

But as government has gotten larger, these groups have dwindled in number or disappeared.  Of course, these organizations were viewed as encouraging middle-class values.  Values such as getting married before children, making a family, getting a job to be self-sustaining, self-discipline, delayed gratification and patriotism.

The structures, organizations, and values mentioned above have been attacked by elites so as to diminish their effectiveness and the ever-expanding government taking up the role of parent.  One in five young Americans has no contact with his or her father.

In 2011, 72 percent of black children were born to unmarried mothers.  In 1965, it was 24 percent.  In 2012, 29 percent of white children were born to unmarried women.  In 1965 it was 3.1 percent.  According to a study in 2018, single parents are generally the loneliest Americans.

Marriage and family are the greatest source of happiness for most people.  Yet, the unmarried percentage of adults is the highest it’s ever been.

So it is no surprise young people see the government and the siren song of socialism as a source of government they can support — everything for everybody!  But the evil that is socialism is freedom is never an option.  Conformance is essential.  And since God is the author of freedom, He is outlawed.

With socialism, religion is not an option, it is the only “religion” and will not abide any others.  It also devolves into totalitarianism, sometimes slowly but eventually it envelopes the whole population and demands strict adherence or “re-education camps” or death is the remedy to force compliance to the government.

And so, let it be said the stop-gap of more and more government was Donald Trump.  Why do both Democrats and establishment Republicans hate him so?  Because he can’t be bought as they are, he doesn’t need the job, nor does he take a salary.  Why has he been attacked since he came down the escalator at Trump Tower and announced he would be a candidate for president?  There has never been any president so vilified as President Trump.  This is why he feels he must Tweet to stick up and defend himself because no other media outlet will.

Trump was never called a racist while a Democrat, he was highly regarded by the NAACP, winning awards, but when he changed parties and ran as a Republican, he must be painted as a racist, heartless, and a laughingstock on the political scene.  That’s why election night was so, so sweet as the returns came in and the sure Democrat win with Hillary turned into a giant Trump win.

Those smug political wonks on every channel were stunned and discombobulated to the point tears, screaming, and ranting was the scene on many channels once he was declared the President-Elect.  For those of us voting for him, it was a sweet victory over someone seen as a shoe-in and lazily ran a campaign that took her voters for granted.  Trump outworked and out-strategized her at every turn and in every state he felt he had a chance to win.

Despite the hatred of the president by the left, he has made everything better — economy is humming along, more people working than ever, world leader in oil production, building the Wall on the southern border, taking out terrorist targets of opportunity, stopping the NATO slugs of taking advantage of the United States by paying their fair share of NATO defense, new trade agreements, to name a few improvements.  The last president was an amateur (and Marxist), we finally have someone who understands what is needed and how to play hardball to get what the country needs.

There is not one Democrat in the line of know-nothings debating and debating that could do half what Trump has completed in three years.  If you vote Democrat next November, please be aware they are all socialists/communists/Marxists of the worst sort and you will reap the whirlwind if they are elected.

Get used to another five years of Trump as president.  Thank God!  Finally, we have a president willing to work to get things done for this great nation of ours.

If you don’t vote Trump, the rotting of America from within will resume…

How is God the author of freedom? You make an assertion, but offer nothing to support your argument. How is he or she outlawed? You make an assertion, but offer nothing to support your argument.

  2. Couchman

Another insult filled regurgitation of FoxNews personalities and right wing radio statements.

Often seems Trumpites can’t think for themselves because they seem to repeat the talking points fed to them by FoxNews commentators, “conservative” talk radio and Trump 2020 campaign.
No can’t we all get along any more.

For the past three years you have ended your columns with the phrase “the rotting of America from within continues.” Now you say that without Trump’s re-election the rotting will resume. So does that mean that America has been rotting all along under Trump, or does it mean that you are talking out of both sides of your mouth?

    Ranger Rick
Another excellent article, which is evident those who lean terribly left will never understand or accept.
Some need to suffer before they understand what they have is much better than what they hope for…..if socialism was so wonderful, why do those living under socialism want to move to the United States? Surely not because it is leaning toward a a form of government they just ran from.

    Mr. Ranger Rick,
You got the trifecta of leftest comments, it does not get any better than that.
Mr. Basura, it is called an opinion column for a reason.
Mr./Ms. Couchman, nice of you to fall into the leftest stereo-type that all conservatives are unable to think.
Ms. Mandaville, I tried but it is impossible to talk out of both sides of our mouths. Lets stipulate you do not like our President.
Once again congratulations to RR for the home run. Oh and Mr. Smit well stated.

Mr. Couchman, your name is descriptive of a liberal “progressive” Democrat, most of the Libs I know sit on the couch and whine as others work to make a living.
And Ms. Mandaville, you need to get a grip on your hatred, it will be a long, long 5 years!
