Ranger Rick: Gov. Whitmer is abusing her authority

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has spoken.  Like the life of a furry, fat, sleepy groundhog Punxsutawney Phil  from Punxsutawney, Pa., Michigan has a prognosticator of prodigious visions.  She is the know all, see all, and knows what is good for the citizens of Michigan.

Once the pandemic Communist Chinese Coronavirus was upon us, she was the only one with the answers, and damn if she was about to let the elected State House and Senate members get in her way of saving the citizens.

She is also good at knowing how to get things done for road construction, the hell with compromise and hammering out a deal, just get a bond for highway construction and repair.  Just like on the campaign trail she was accused of raising the fuel tax once elected by her competitor.  Sure enough, once elected, she didn’t ask for $0.25-0.30 per gallon, she asked for far more – $0.45 per gallon.  Once she found it wasn’t possible to get it through the legislature, up came the bond.

So much for compromise.  You, dear taxpayer, are on the hook for the bond, not the governor.  But I digress.

Last week, she announced another 28 days to stay home except for venturing out to gas stations, grocery stores and pharmacies.  Soon she will wave a wand and let construction workers return to work in a week or two.  We are so blessed to have a governor who was blindsided by the pandemic she knew was about, did nothing about it, and screamed (like the New York governor) the federal government was doing nothing to help.

Funny, you can still slake your gambling thirst, buying lotto tickets online.  Evidently, the state needs the cash and the governor cannot cut off the citizens need.  But she can keep you home!

Last week there was a protest with citizens taking to the streets around Lansing capital building.  The Governor exclaimed there were Confederate and Nazi flags present and some had automatic weapons.  I viewed many stations coverage of the protest and never saw a Confederate or Nazi flag.  I did see weapons citizens were carrying — rifles mainly, and visible revolvers and pistols and those with concealed carry I’m sure had weapons on their person.  All legal.

Her lie about automatic weapons is a huge whopper — there are no automatic weapons sold to the public in the United States.  However, all was legal and no shots fired either by citizens or police.

However, I don’t blame her. Most Democrats lie continually about weapons because they know nothing about them, so lying by the ignorant and stupid is habitual.  Anyone who knows the Constitution and loves their rights knows we have the Second Amendment to protect the first.

I’m amazed about the ease and compliance of the Governor denying citizens, having their liberty and freedom taken away from them with hardly a whimper at first.  With the looming possible extension of denying liberty and freedom again, the caring, concerned American citizens spoke through the protest, as is their right under the First Amendment.

Many need to work, are losing their homes, jobs and businesses are a real possibility.  They are scared, angry, and unsure of their futures.  Tensions are mounting.

The country of Sweden did not shut down, did not social distance, and lived with the virus with about the same infection and death rate as the U.S. where states enforced all the precautions and shut down businesses, schools, colleges, sports, etc.  Why isn’t their infection and death rates higher?  Maybe they were the smart ones.

Governor Whitmer, get the state back to work  — pronto!

The rotting of America from within continues…

Not sure who is behind all these rules to limit our freedoms, but they seem to be very effective.
The majority or our citizens are so afraid right now not matter what she orders they follow without question. All those blindly following will tell you, they are doing it for you not them. They firmly believe if they work, leave their homes a mask must be worn anywhere once they close their doors . Otherwise they maybe responsible for the death of family, relatives or any stranger they pass. The question they fail to ask themselves……did they really care about their fellow citizens when they were speeding, tailgating, driving under the influence of alchohol or drugs, did you wear a mask or social distance when you had a cold? With a comprised immune system a cold can kill that person.
Those who blindly follow persons in power sometime in the future the reality will hit you. The real question is will you have waited to long .
How long will “free money” last so you don’t have to go to work. How long are you going to tolerate not seeing your loved ones, or friends as they are dying in the hospital or nursing home?
How long are you going to home school your children. Will the colleges and technology institutions ever open?
By running scared are you seriously aware of the shortage of food and how it will effect you?
Those currently working will still have money. But prices are rising, but you will make it. Those non essential businesses and workers will not fare as well .
This will be the real test will you really care about those not so fortunate?
We know the answer if you really cared, Michigan would have the lowest amount of homeless, our mental health system would be a model for the Country.
The list could go on forever.
If you are truthful you really only care about very few people.

    What did RR say here?
1500 more cases in Kent county in 20 days
    This is the new hotspot
Amazing that folks don’t wear a mask. One guard at a store has been killed because customers were asked to put on a mask. Another customer wiped his nose on sleeve of a store worker. The fringe is out.
    Guns at the Capitol
What were they afraid of… the truth, I suppose, but they continue to believe in their hero, disinfectant Donny.
Sure we want places to open up, but at what cost?
Some of us are playing it safe while others infringe on our safety.
    Do more testing please.

Hopefully, you might answer a couple of questions, since no one I ask will answer.
#1. If you remain isolated in your home, use all the modern technology to get everything you need delivered to your home. How am I infringing on your safety? Once you leave the protection of your home… it’s game over.
#2. What is more testing really going to accomplish? If it shows more have the virus will you stay locked away longer. If there is less, will you than join us out and about?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but testing only produces numbers. Currently there is a belief that a temp of 100 or above means you may be a possible carrier.
Again, I maybe wrong, but until a vaccine is found, numbers are no guarantee you won’t die from this virus.

If she (Governor Whitmer) made decisions made based on science verses political, I could better take her advice and she would have more credibility. You may buy a gallon of vodka, however, not a gallon of paint, buy a pound of weed, but no garden seed. As stated, she certainly wanted to make sure we could still buy lottery tickets. There are a lot of wise people who read this shit, please educate me how these decisions are not politically motivated.

    Cheers!

The reason to stay home was to keep the curve as low as possible, yet until we reach an 80% saturation herd immunity is not accomplished. If too many get sick at the same time the results are the same as they are now except the reason for the shortages will be dead workers not stay at home workers, and if more people get sick, our front lines are at higher risk. No matter what direction is taken, a great financial loss is already set in stone, as is some quality of life loss. It looks like some will rebel and some will stay at home, and maybe we will come up with a viable cure, that is all in limbo. Testing has never been appropriate to this task, and while it is nice to see some data, it is misleading and inadequate to date. Everybody has an opinion and most are wrong and premature due to the lack of data. I will continue to Question, Pray, and do my best to contain my anger.
