With President –Elect Donald Trump’s declaration about abolishing “Sanctuary Cities,” various mayors have said they would not be changing and the lawlessness would continue.
Rahm Emanuel, mayor of “Murder Inc.” Chicago – the mighty mite he is both in physicality and his childish demeanor, elects to thumb his nose at Trump and his stated policies concerning illegal immigration, especially when it involves criminals. He vows to maintain his lawless and disorder stance, putting his citizens at risk against those who would perpetrate harm in the form of murder, rape, assault, robbery, etc. Evidently, Mr. Emanuel puts criminal rights higher than his law-abiding citizens. If you live in Chicago, your mayor has given you a huge middle finger. Instead of being mayor of a major city, he should be shamed into resigning – he is a disgrace to his office.
Bill de Blasio, the intellectual lightweight mayor of New York, also maintains a similar stance as his mayoral brethern Rahm Emanuel. Mr. de Blasio, a Marxist of highest order, has brought dishonor and encouraged lawlessness by criticizing police actions, just like Marxist President Obama. They both speak before they know the facts and foment distrust and anger — so much for liberal ideas and their consequences. New York citizens: You are on your own in battling illegals creating mayhem and destruction. He is a disgrace to his office. And you wonder why Trump won?
Since both Emanuel and de Blasio have encouraged more lawlessness to abound in their respective cities, what will the president-elect do? There are a number of avenues I’m sure he will examine closely, but I’m sure he may elect to stop all federal funds slated for both cities until their stances change. Or he could federalize the Chicago and New York police departments and/or call up the federal armed services to enforce the law within the cities.
We all are aware many of the illegals only want a chance at freedom and a new life from their oppressive countries from which they fled. However, there are some within their population who are known criminals and they should be either arrested, tried and put in prison or deported, depending on the crimes committed against American citizens. This should not be up for debate, the cancer has to be eliminated.
To those thinking the Emanuel and de Blasio stances are correct, how do you tell a family their loved one was killed randomly by someone who shouldn’t even be on American soil as an illegal? Think about if it was your son, daughter or family member.
I would hope all those in power with the authority to do so, will shut down sanctuary cities and enforce existing immigration law to the fullest extent possible. The remaining illegal immigrants status will be determined by the next administration. If those remaining have no record of illegal activity (other than trespassing illegally), they pay a fine, take an oath of loyalty to the United States, learn to read and write the language, pay all taxes, and eventually be allowed to apply for citizenship. Just how and within what time frame that would happen will be determined by the Administration and Congress for those now in country.
My wish is for a transition from illegal to contributing citizen, which many of them presently are, and allowing those wishing to get a “green card” to work in the United States but return home, like it had been established years ago, to be continued or reinstated (if it no longer exists). Some want to work in the United States but want to go home before winter and return the next year. There’s no reason that cannot be allowed unless it is determined they are breaking laws or suspect and convicted of committing crimes. The vetting of such migrants will have to be done, but that should not be a problem.
The future of the country depends on it, our laws need to be obeyed and enforced.
The rotting of America from within is showing progress to possible health. Only time will tell the outcome. Pray for our new president, the congress, and our country to make the correct decisions to address these and many other issues facing our country and people.
