Ranger Rick: Origins, stats of Coronavirus mysterious

The Chinese virus, aptly named Wuhan virus (from the city of origin), has been renamed COVID-19 so as to take the regional/country name off to lessen the sting of the overwhelming dire symptoms that the virus turned out to exhibit.  If not treated quickly after symptoms started, some hosts were carriers of the virus and not severely affected, however, those who were could die from the effects.

The Epoch Times in the March/April 2020 edition renamed the virus the CCP virus (China Communist Party).  The reason for name is because the CCP is “accountable for its wanton disregard of human life and consequent spawning of a pandemic that has put untold numbers in countries around the world at risk, while creating widespread fear and devastating the economies of nations trying to cope with this disease.”

How devastating has this virus been on the mother country?  Being a country and culture that remains secretive about the virus severity on its population, there is evidence the CCP has claimed more victims than reported than the Communist Party has admitted.  In late January, all the crematoria in Wuhan were operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week to deal with the dead.  Since outside experts have not been allowed to investigate or be allowed into Wuhan, nobody knows the truth.

How did the virus happen?  Was it a transformation of a virus in bats that made the jump to humans?  Or was this an experiment gone bad in the germ warfare labs of the CCP?  Was it deliberately engineered in a lab to be used on China’s enemies?  Will we ever find evidence one way or the other?  Highly unlikely if it is up to the CCP.  The origins will remain a secret.

The World Health Organization (WHO, a perfect name for a world organization never in the know) was the perfect foil for the Chinese government.  Deflecting questions about the virus and its spread and denying any harm from this virus, they finally had to admit the virus was spreading, much to the chagrin of the CCP.

Cell phone use in China is a must — people cannot survive without a cell phone.  And once a number is issued to a cell phone, it is impossible for a person to cancel it, according to Tang Jungyuan, China affairs commentator.  The number of phone users per province announced in Dec. 18, 2019, for November 2019 data to those active cellphones for March 19, 2020 dropped by 21.03 million.

By all cell phone carriers, cell phones accounts increased in December 2019, but dropped steeply in 2020.  Knowing the love of cell phones for everyday life for the Chinese people — everything is done on the phones — more than Americans (if you can believe that!).  If even one half of the 21.03 million drop in cell phone accounts could be attributed to the virus killing users. What a complete and utter tragedy.

The rotting of China from within continues…

    Mr.RR
Well done, the correlation between call phone use and population size is very intelligent. Of course it is a coincidence the virus started in Wuhan and the Peoples Liberation Army’s Boi/Chem lab is near Wuhan. It is like a virus starting in Frederick Maryland very near Fort Detrick would be a coincidence.

    FYI-
The link below is to the CDC. Skip down to the heading of COVID-19 BACKGROUND. You don’t seem to have information on how this disease originated!
In addition, Asian Americans are feeling/receiving reprisal from others (who are certainly ignorant A**holes) and we have many of these people in this country, so PLEASE do not spread the wrong name of this virus as the Chinese virus. I have 2 adopted Korean children, raised in Dorr graduates of Wayland Schools, grown adults now, who could be recipients of this anger.

Jon, thank you for sharing this article (the link you provided below). I hope readers will take the time to read the portion you suggest, BACKGROUND.
Some folks like me were immediately concerned when our president so rapidly adopted the use of the term Chinese Virus (he claimed to be in the interest of “accuracy”). With his history as a bigot, I was sure accuracy was not his intent. I was very tempted to use the term Trump Virus because it occurred during his administration, and I, too, wanted to be “accurate.”
That digression aside, I support you in your effort to clue people in to the tendency of some to blame a race of people for a germ that has no political or ethnic heritage to misguide its spread.
We are living through a crisis the likes of which most of us haven’t experienced, and in our fear we tend to lash out inappropriately.
It behooves our better angels to guide use wisely, to join us together – though with responsible social distancing – in a more intellectual means of coping with our fears.
      Stay safe and healthy, Jon.
      Peace.

    Mr. Clausen,
The virus, by all reliable accounts, originated in China, specifically Wuhan.
Do you know something that others do not? Maybe some inside information?
Is your only reliance is on the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and/or WHO (World Health Organization) for information, the WHO is a puppet for the Chinese communist government. Don’t believe everything you see on the news or talking head shows. You’ll be sorely diappointed.

Looks like Ranger Rick has gone from parroting Sean Hannity, along with Fox and Friends talking points of 4 weeks ago, when he said COVID-19 was all hype and a diversion to discredit President Trump to parroting FoxNews talking heads’ new message that it’s all China’s fault with WHO collusion.

Not surprising because Ranger Rick seems to regularly blame and belittle people with whom he disagrees politically. He also regularly regurgitates the latest “conservative” talking points. This time, besides FoxNews, Ranger Rick is also getting his talking points from Epoch Times, a publication known for its right wing views and with its close association with Fulan Gong. Epoch Times also has a documented history of publicizing anti-vaccine and QAnon conspiracy theories.

I have two nephews whose father is Chinese. He was born in Delaware and is a Stanford grad. Two nephews who are Korean Americans whose Korean mother was born and raised in Chicago. The author seeks to shift blame and racially brand a virus that puts people like Mr. Clausen’s children and my nephews in the crosshairs of knuckleheads who look for a reason to go after people who are racially different. Why is a mystery.

It’s COVID-19. It’s more deadly than H1N1 flu and it’s killing people in Allegan County, Southwest Michigan, the State of Michigan, the USA and across the globe. It wasn’t a hoax or an over-hyped version of the flu.

More than 15,000 deaths Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) (Media & People Outraged)
More than 38,000 people die every year in crashes on U.S. roadways (Not talked about)
40,000-60,000 Seasonal Influenza deaths per year (not talked about)
Over 600,000 Babies dismembered in the womb every year (People actively trying to protect the right and keep the numbers strong) This is sick. How can people live with themselves?…………

    Talk about backwards thinking Americans!!

    Cheers!!!

Ok. So no one wants anyone to identify a country a disease originates in (so the last known one would be the Spanish Flu )
The real question people should be asking is how many people with healthy not comprised immune systems has this virus killed? The age group most likely to die currently has comprised immune systems. Sure, every virus attacks those in a weakened state…. even what we call a “common cold” can lead to more serious complications, even death. As of this segment in time, no real facts have been published as to the number of people with uncompromised immune systems who have died. There is just so much we will not understand about this virus until more research is done.
When it comes to “being a target” because of appearance, country of origin, etc. You have a totally different form of disease… it’s racism, racial profiling, racial hatred pure and simple. The virus has little to do with those who are racist…it’s just another excuse to apply their racism.
It’s surely possible someone to this point has not been the target of racism. We all know racism is still alive and well if it wasn’t a pandemic should bring compassion not hatred.
The truth (as we understand) is this virus started in China. So in order to be politically correct we give it a name and number so the real problem in this Country (racism) doesn’t arise. History will never mention the source,
We can blame everyone from our country’s leaders to every living thing… but it takes a major pandemic to have us truly search ourselves and say can I accept dying because I have a compromised immune system, will I blame someone for bringing this into my life? Why weren’t we prepared? The list could go on.
The persons truly honest with themselves will accept the outcome, be it good or bad.

Mr. Couchman, you have the perfect name for someone intellectually lazy and spreading horse manure.

I read Ranger Rick and didn’t come to the same conclusion. Nowhere did he advocate violence upon any race, religion, or country. He merely parroted the truth of the origin of the virus. China was where the virus originated and spread from there. Do you dispute the facts or are you a denier?

If anyone is attacked, it would be as ridiculous as people refusing to purchase Corona beer. This is ignorance and unmitigated hate by the oppressor and should be punished severely if they act upon their misguided impulses.

Please don’t use anecdotal evidence just because you can and back off on the hate Trump lines. He saved thousands by instituting a travel ban, thank God! Imagine if a Democrat with political correctness deciding ever policy and decision. Hillary would have kept the borders open and you know it.
