Ranger Rick: Trump shows no-nonsense approach to U.N.

President Donald Trump addressed the United Nations Council last week. The deferential language, weak body language, the scraping and bowing are things of the past.

President Obama was the appeaser and weak-willed; ineffective and laughable to other world leaders, knowing he was a pushover when it came to opposing the will of their objectives. Of course they loved him, Marxists, Socialists, and Thugs stick together against a weak leader. Evidence to this is Iran and North Korea deals that were long on appeasement, giving billions of taxpayer money, and short on stopping atomic weapons development. The Benghazi debacle, after Ambassador Stevens asked for strengthening of defense of the compound. More than 600 requests were either ignored or denied. Where was the outrage after the deaths of the ambassador and defenders?

Why did the State Department (Hillary Clinton) deny the requests she said she never received and where was President Obama that night? – Nobody knows and nobody asks. Besides, “what difference at this point does it make”? Madame Secretary, it happened on your watch, and there were requests for more security at the compound which you or others in power under you denied, that’s what difference it makes! Brave men died because of YOU.

After President Trump addressed the United Nations Council, the military and the American people know they have a leader who will not put up with such nonsense and no action protecting American lives and property. He posed the questions to the U.N. to act in opposing Iran and North Korea as a governing body representing the world. If the U.N. fails to act, President Trump will take action as appropriate responding to any actions North Korea or Iran unleash against the United States and their allies.

Whether you support and voted for President Trump or hate his guts, he is our president. As the American people in fly-over country, we are the most patriotic lot of Americans. Those on the Left and Right Coasts are generally the more liberal and anti-patriotic of the population. That is a “broad brush stroke” but statistically speaking, it is the truth whether you accept it or not. Facts are stubborn things and tend to get in front of your opposition argument.

Of lesser importance, the NFL protest of the flag and national anthem:

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, whose own compensation is reportedly north of $40 million per year for not playing a down; was persistent and dogged in the costly attack of the New England Patriots and Tom Brady of a lower pressure football, but ignores other rules from the NFL game operations manual.

The rules are found on pages A62-63 of the league’s game operations manual:

“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

Does Mr. Goodell wish to kill the “golden goose” of professional football where the players play, coaches coach, officials officiate, and spectators watch their favorite team(s)? Have you seen the ratings since the protests started with Kaepernik last year and now is a full-blown turnoff for many die-hard fans because of disrespecting the flag and national anthem? Do you really understand the anger and disrespect spectators in the stands and viewers on TV feel when this happens?

No, because the protestors are so involved with the hate for Trump they forget about what they are there for and who pays and supports their salaries sitting in the seats and viewing TV. But then again, they aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer. They forget where all that money comes from for them to buy big houses, expensive autos, bling, and tats. When the revenue dries up, as it may, the league will crumble and become dust in the wind.

Evidently to Mr. Goodell, you only enforce rules you want to enforce. I’m sure he contributed to both President Obama’s candidacy and Secretary Clinton’s campaign and the hate and diatribe against President Trump is out of proportion over what should have been when President Obama got every law enforcement personnel/African American shooting facts wrong.

There was no “hands up, don’t shoot” statement, there was a grounding and pounding, and there were other instances where President Obama shot off his mouth without facts. If you don’t like Trump’s tweets, so be it. At least they have some relevance to the issues. President Obama’s comments never did; law enforcement always had it wrong. President Trump has not divided the country, it already existed from the previous eight years of weak, ineffective, and disrespectful leadership by President Obama.

The “kiddie players” now rule the NFL, another great American sport now under fire, and the rotting of America from within continues …

So, instead of sacrificing one of their pieces of jewelry, by donating some of the NFL money they earn, to a worthy cause benefitting those that they feel are oppressed, they kneel when the National Anthem is being played. How very generous, brave and committed they are!!! What a joke. But what would you expect from a bunch of juvenile athletes that are mentally still in High School.

Gee, wonder why they feel oppressed? Perhaps they think that because they are sports celebrities, they should live by a different set of rules. You know, like the looters that take advantage of every protest, as a cause/reason to loot & steal, because they are oppressed as well. I’ve worked and been friends with many honest & hard working black people in my lifetime and they are the ones that suffer most from fools like these and those that complain all the time about their lot in life. These are the real dividers of our society, not those that think taking a knee is the wrong way to go about things.

No nonsense? How about childishly referring to the another man-child state leader (the dictator of North Korea) with an embarrassing juvenile manner, while addressing an assembly of the UN?

    • Free Market Man

Probably because the man-child dictator is a juvenile. When you talk in nice, rational diplomatic speech to these idiotic dipwads, they don’t get it. The UN is a joke, an assembly of dictators, political shills, socialists, Marxists, and Communists. Just like guys like you don’t understand Trump and his appeal. Get over it already – he’s the president!

See what happened to the NFL? If he would have kneeled under (not a pun) pressure to appeal to the players like Bill Clinton and Obama with a stuck out lower lip and saying “I feel your paaaaiiiiin” and shedding a tear, the idiocy that is rampant on the Left would continue. More words, nothing done to work toward understanding. Stop the misdirected anger and get real. The NFL used to stand for something, now it stands for Not For Long. The owners and players may have cut their own throats with their idiotic protests by millionaires sitting the pine. They are going about “understanding” by disrespecting the country, flag and those that revere both. In your face diplomacy. Well, it goes both ways, as the owners are finding out with less seats filled and fleeing sponsors. The golden goose is being gutted and ready for the oven.

His address to the UN – with the silly name calling – was very childish.
