Ranger Rick: Why I believe that Obama is a Marxist

A number of readers of this publication commenting about my assertions President Barack Obama was a Marxist will be addressed in this column.

Remember a few nights before Barak Obama was elected president when Tom Brokaw was interviewed by Charlie Rose? They both admitted the media probably didn’t do a good job of vetting Mr. Obama and stated “there’s much we don’t know about Barak Obama.”

Stunning admission — they and the liberal media didn’t do their job in investigating his past, present, and what he believes and how he would govern if elected. I investigated this man when he first announced he was running for president of the United States. I knew after a very short time reading about him he was an avowed Marxist. The reasons I say this are below:

Let’s understand what Marxism is let’s turn to Merriam-Webster dictionary:

“Marxism – the political, economic, and social principles advocated by Karl Marx; a theory and practice of socialism including the labor theory of value, dialectical materialism, the class struggle, and dictatorship of the proletariat until the establishment of a classless society.”

I will dispense of the “president” title only to save space, not to denigrate his time in office, though I and many others think he was a worse president than President Carter. That takes some doing!

His father was a known and avowed communist from Kenya who came to America to attend college. He wrote a paper “Problems with our Socialism” – advocating 100% taxation on the rich, communal ownership of land, and force the confiscation of land.

He met Barack’s mother (Stanley Ann Dunham), described as a “progressive,” married and had a son named Barack (Barry). His parents soon divorced and later Ms. Dunham met and married Lolo Soetaro, and they moved to Indonesia, Lolo’s country of origin. There, young Barack attended a Muslim school and was schooled in the religion of Islam. Remember when he said the sweetest sound he ever heard was being called to prayer? Regardless of whether he was a believer of Islam, he was immersed into the culture.

Later, after he was sent to Hawaii to live with his grandparents, he was enrolled in Panahou Prep, a private and exclusive prep school the Dunhams paid for. About this time, he also met and was mentored by Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the U.S. Communist Party. He admitted Frank Marshall Davis had a huge influence on how and what he thought about in his formative years.

During his high school years, he experimented with drugs, especially marijuana, and admitted he was a drug user and member of the “Choom Gang.” People who experiment in drug use are generally more liberal, “progressive” (whatever that means), and prone to anger against authority.

During the presidential race, Mr. Obama blocked anyone from seeing his high school, college and birth certificate records. Later he relented and released a “certificate of live birth,” which indicated he was born in Hawaii. This is not a “birth certificate” as usual, where identification such as footprints on the document.

This remains a mystery as to why a birth certificate cannot be produced but only a certificate of live birth, which is only a document stating you are medically alive and exist. It is not an official document for use in obtaining a passport or for official identification proving who you are and where you were born.

He started his Chicago career in politics when William Ayers and Bernadine Dorn, both members of the Weathermen, a hate group against law enforcement, planting bombs and injuring or killing law enforcement officers. They hosted his first fund-raiser and were friends with the Obamas during his early years in political state office (IL State Senate).

He and Mrs. Obama were attendees of the church headed by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, married in the church and attended for more than 20 years, in the pews when Rev. Wright ranted and raved over the hate for America and after Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, with the “America’s chickens have come home to roost” comment. Barack Obama never disavowed what Rev. Wright said in his racist sermons.

My mother used to say “You’re only as good as the friends you keep.” Evidently, Obama didn’t care if he was found out to be a Marxist or not, the media was in love with him, even without any substantive voting record or accomplishment other than elected state office in the state of Illinois and a freshman U.S. Senator from IL. As Vice President Joe Biden exclaimed “he is a bright, clean, black man!” Of course, if a Republican would have said the same thing, he would have been hounded out of office.

His actions as president displayed at the very least liberal to Marxist political thought, they include thwarted expanding domestic energy supplies, expanded progressive income tax; abolition of inheritance policies; confiscation of offshore tax havens; centralization of the country’s financial system (passing Dodd/Frank was a huge step in that direction); attempt at state control of communications and transportation; “fairness” doctrine – trying to expand the liberal domination of the media; high-speed rail boondoggles; subsidizing “green” transportation; “green” subsidies; failed cap and trade scheme; more and excessive EPA regulation; state control over education (federal college loans taken from private banks and lending institutions and taken over by the government); and state control over means of production (“saving” GM and Chrysler with government bailouts).

The auto bailouts were started by President George W. Bush, and continued and expanded under President Obama. The GM bailout was especially terrible for bondholders, as they were offered nothing for their bonds. The GM CEO had to resign as well as members of the Board of Directors. The takeover of the majority of American auto industry was complete – you, the taxpayer, are on the hook for all of these government takeovers and intrusions. As of this writing, about $10 billion was taken from the taxpayers to front GM’s fiduciary responsibilities.

After all this, GM still had to declare bankruptcy. If the government would have not “helped,” GM would have been under market forces, where private investment firms would buy the assets of the company and would have kept the business going, or sold off the assets to those interested in buying. But Obama would have none of that, he wanted the government to control the industry.

And taking over one-sixth of the economy by burdening the taxpayers with Obamacare, which failed under its own weight of financial burden and mismanagement of resources was another Marxist dream.

If you want to bury your head in the sand over President Obama’s mismanagement of America’s resources, do so at your own peril. But nothing in the president’s past displays any democratic principles of government, or the reliance on capitalistic systems to guide the financial growth of the country. Only through control and confiscation does President Obama and his administration impose Marxism on America and American citizens.
