ReCar Nation dealership has relocated to Plainwell

The used car dealership ReCar Nation, which sported an empty lot earlier this week in downtown Wayland, has relocated to Plainwell.

Woody Woodcox, who bought the business from Nick Oetman at the corner of Maple and North Main earlier this summer, posted on this web site, “Hey everyone, thanks for your concerns and input. As much as we wanted to be in our local community, we just could not make it work out. With multiple lease issues, issues with co-tenants, and ultimately the property reportedly being sold, we also found it to be in our best interest to move on.

In response to this report, Woodcox said, “Actually, for clarification purposes, ReCar Nation was never ‘purchased’ from anyone. It is an entirely new business that we created. There is, nor has there ever been any correlation with Wayland Motor Sales, Nick Oetman or any others. ReCar Nation is a completely separate entity.”

The firm managing the local business, located at 159 N. Main St., also ran a used car dealership in Martin.

Wayland Motor Sales, which operated at that same site until last summer, was shuttered by the Michigan Secretary of State’s office earlier this summer before Woodcox bought it because of irregularities in registrations for cars sold. (Photo supplied)
