Red Wing reps pay a visit to Wayland elementary students

Steeby, Dorr and Pine Street Elementary students were visited by representatives from the Detroit Red Wings Foundation who held an interactive assembly designed to provide a positive message about the importance of education and a healthy lifestyle. Students and staff showed team spirit by wearing Red Wings attire. After the motivational message, they held a teacher vs. student shoot out. Griffin, the mascot from the Grand Rapids Griffins, was the goalie for the students. Each school received a full set of street hockey equipment, courtesy of the Detroit Red Wings Foundation.
