Resource Center says needs continue to climb

The Martin Area Resource Center has reported record-breaking numbers and a whopping 102,750 pounds of food distributed so far (in 2024).

“One month this year we served 38 households in one day who had never asked for help before!” Said Resource Center spokeswoman Amanda. “Our data shows that 63% of those served this year have NEVER used us before this year. That’s an even higher percentage of new people than we served last year.”

Martin Area Resource Center personnel added, “With the increase in need for those in our community, there is also an increase in needed food and clothing. We have such a small overhead with only ONE paid staff, so any tax-deductible donation you can spare goes directly back to the communities we serve.

“We also have real world needs; such as another box truck to haul our food and recycling, a new air conditioner in the food bank, a larger clothing bank, etc. We have faith that God will provide them in His time.

“We hope this year was kind to you and again are forever grateful for your prayers.
