Retired air traffic controller dies at 60

Nancy Jane (Kuecker) Henrickson died Sunday, April 20, at her beloved lake home in Watson Township. She was 60 years old.

Born on Sept. 4, 1964, in La Crosse, Wisc., Nancy the daughter of Duane and Jacqueline (Major) Kuecker. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse with a bachelor’s degree in finance. She met and married Alan Henrickson. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Dylan and Marisa.

Nancy dedicated more than 32 years of service as an air traffic controller at Gerald R. Ford International Airport, a role she performed with pride and precision. She was also a proud member of MENSA, a reflection of her brilliant mind.

Nancy found happiness in caring for her beloved German shepherds, cats and peacocks. Her lake home was her sanctuary, where she cherished pontoon rides, watching the sunset, and hosting loved ones for meals and laughter. An avid viewer of cooking shows and an excellent baker, Nancy found her greatest joy in the simple moments—spending time with her husband and children.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Henrickson; her children, Marisa (Justin) Brenner and Dylan (Ciera) Henrickson; and her siblings, Liza Kuecker (Tom Hulse), Kathy Kuecker, Dave Kuecker, and Dan (Ronda) Kuecker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Jacqueline (Major) Kuecker.

A graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, a.m. at the Sheep of the Good Shepherd Cemetery, located just south of the intersection of 22nd Street and 114th Avenue in Watson Township.
