Ribbon cutting held for Wayland Middle School addition

The new wing at Wayland Middle School had its official ribbon cutting Monday. The school welcomed an addition to accommodate sixth, seventh- and eighth-graders in the district and ease overcrowded conditions in the earlier elementary schools. The construction was approved by voters in a special bond election in November 2017, costing just under $20 million. Wayland schools will open for the 2019-20 academic year on Monday, Aug. 26.
