John DolegowskiThe simple procedure of appointing and re-appointing citizens to boards and commissions had an added tinge of sadness Thursday at the Watson Township Board meeting.

Supervisor Pam Brown found it difficult to speak while explaining that she had asked Troy Henrickson to serve on the Township Board of Review. Henricksen agreed to sit on the board at least this year, succeeding longtime community activist John Dolegowski.

Dolegowski, a well-known Watson Township farmer, was killed last month in a car-truck traffic crash near Hopkins. He was 58.

The other choices all were re-appointments: David Carter and Michelle Harris to three-year terms on the Planning Commission; James Kelsey and John VanDyke to three-year terms on the Zoning Board of Appeals, and Scott Southwick, Daniel Boniface, James Kelsey and David VanLiere, all two-year terms on the Construction Board of Appeals.
