Sandra Morris

Sandra Morris has sent Townbroadcast a letter denying that she has resigned her position.

Townbroadcast reported she resigned her position as treasurer of Hopkins Township because it was mentioned on the agenda for the Aug. 14 meeting of the Township Board. Morris explained that the item was placed on the agenda in error and it was corrected at the beginning of the meeting.

Morris has served in the past for 11 years on the Township Board. She was first elected in 2012 after a brief stint as deputy treasurer to Dawn Arndt. She also had served earlier as treasurer for Hopkins Village.

Morris was challenged three times in the elections of 2012, 2016 and 2020 by Kathy Laseur, prevailed in all three primary elections.

Sandra Morris in 2021 was reported to receive annual pay of $16,602.
