Well, here we go again. It’s gotten so pervasive that some on Facebook are asserting that 2019 is the year children stopped going to school. Hopkins, Martin and Wayland schools were called off Wednesday in the wake of another snowstorm. This makes as many as nine of the last 13 school days featuring no students nor teachers in the classrooms. Hopkins and Wayland basketball teams were able to sneak in ballgames Tuesday night. The art work is courtesy of the Sycamore Elementary School posting on the Hopkins schools’ web site.

On another note: The weekly “Bygone Days” column will have to be delayed one day so the editor can blow out his driveway.
