Allegan County has had 95 positive COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, April 29, and the Health Department has announced the second death of the disease.
There are a total of 13 individuals recovered, based on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services definition. Continue to check back for reliable information related to COVID-19.
The Health Department will begin to report the number of probable cases in daily data updates. Probable cases of COVID-19 disease are individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19, but have not been tested. They meet one of the following conditions within the past 14 days:
1. Close contact with a laboratory confirmed case or close contact with another probable case of COVID-19
2. Close contact with a symptomatic contact of a laboratory confirmed case
3. Traveled to an area experiencing sustained, ongoing community transmission of coronavirus that causes COVID-19 disease
4. People within the community who public health authorities consider more likely to be exposed, such as health care workers or people living in-group homes.
