Celebration of life delayed for Duane VanVolkinburg

Duane VanVolkinburg of Wayland died Sunday, April 9, at the age of 94.

Over the years, Duane was a passionate wood worker and enjoyed remolding homes. Duane retired from Dean Foods formerly Pet Milk. Duane was also involved with his church community for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family the most.

Duane leaves behind his five children Ron (Miriam) VanVolkinburg, Roger (Cindy) VanVolkinburg, Tim VanVolkinburg, Joyce (Jeff) Pintarelli, and Terry VanVolkinburg, along with eight grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Jack (Jean) VanVolkinburg, and two sisters, Joann Modreske and Doris Metsch, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Duane is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Elaine, one daughter and several brothers and sisters.

Per Duane’s wishes cremation has taken place and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
