Service for Pat Robinson will be at Otsego VFW

Former Martin schools teacher’s aide Pat Robinson died Wednesday, June 26, at Stanford Lodge in Plainwell. She was 79.

She was born Sept. 4, 1944, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Jacob and Maude (Dekema) DeHaan. Pat graduated from Portage Central High School in 1962.

She worked at many different jobs over the years, including as a bank teller, teacher’s aide for Martin Public Schools and with her husband at Impert Industries. Pat was active with the Otsego Elks Lodge and was a Girl Scout leader.

She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed making clothes, knitting and crocheting.

On May 1, 1963, in Portage, she married William Robinson, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Shelly (Robert) Button-Kollpainter of Wisconsin and Tracy (Tim Tefft) Schmitt of Otsego; six grandchildren, Travis, Lacey, Erin, Anna, Danielle and Zachary; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Canning along with four nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with Pat’s family at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 30, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. A luncheon will follow the visitation at the Otsego VFW Post #3030 from 1 to 3 p.m.
