Robert Dale Truax of Hopkins, died Tuesday, March 8. He was 74.

He was born in Allegan to Russell and Maxine (Mudgett) Truax. Robert married Diana (Kelly) Truax, with whom they shared 42 faithful years in marriage together.

He was a lover of nature and would spend most of his time in the wild of Southwest Michigan. He was an avid hunter and became an expert marksman in hunting wildlife from foxes, rabbits, squirrels and deer. He was a lifetime member of the National Bluetick Coonhound Association with which you could find him reading their paper in his favorite chair. He was always making time to walk his property and take in the wildlife.

Robert is survived by his wife, Diana (Kelly) Truax; daughters, Kelly (Bonnie Osterberg) Truax, and Ashley (Laurie Zajda) Truax; granddaughter, Jayden Truax; and sister, Vickie Truax.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Maxine (Mudgett) Truax.

The family will have a private service later this summer. Donations may be made in Robert’s name to Gateway for Cancer Research, Attention Jeremy Alonzo, 20 Martingale Road, Suite 180, Schaumburg, IL 60173.
