Juanita F. (Niewiek) Cole, 69, of Middleville, who raised a family with husband Bill at Miller Lake for 32 years, died Thursday, June 9.

She was born at home in Cutlerville to Joe and Eileen (Perrin) Niewiek. She was raised there and in Middleville, where she gained a stepmother, Marilyn. She was one of the first, and youngest, people to have heart surgery in its early days.

Juanita’s’ life was spent loving and raising her four boys, and with Bill ran Miller Lake Campground, where she worked for 25 years. After retiring back to Yankee Springs, she enjoyed her golden years with her friends, dogs, antique cars, reading, and traveling the United States.

She is survived by her sons, Terry (Robin), Josh (Jessica), Brady (Jenny); five grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Dale, Danny, Charmaine, Val, J.B.; great niece and great nephew, Samantha, and Camron; along with lifelong friends, Laura, Linda, Margaret, Roxy; and special friend, Dan.

She was preceded in death by son Noah.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Yankee Springs Bible Church, with a two-hour visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the service. Pastor Jim Collison will officiate.

Interment will be in Yankee Springs Cemetery.
