Linda J. Nagel, age 72, died Saturday, Jan. 26.
She was born into the family of Joe and Jane Haveman of Moline and attended South Christian High School. She received her bachelor and master’s degrees at Calvin College, and taught special education students until her retirement from the Kentwood and Grand Rapids Public Schools.
Linda was an active, long standing member of LaGrave Ave. Christian Reformed Church with extended service in the Handbell and Chancel Choirs.
She is survived by her sons, Joe and Ben (Tia) Nagel; grandchildren, Ezzy, Leah, and Emma; her sister Janice (Peter) Vermaat, Thomas Haveman, Susan (Gerald) Kruyf, and Fred Haveman; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at LaGrave Ave. CRC (107 LaGrave Ave. SE). The family will greet friends and relatives at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE), from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, and on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
