Service officer’s action vs. car fire earns praise

Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputy Alan Klein was praised by Martin Fire & Rescue for his role in extinguishing a car fire in the Martin School parking lot Tuesday. Deputy Klein, assigned as the service resource officer at Martin Public Schools was first on scene “and did some pretty phenomenal work with a fire extinguisher knocking down this fire and preventing a substantial loss to the vehicle,” said Martin Fire & Rescue Chief Kurt Knight. The chief added, “We where so impressed with his ability we made him an honorary member complete with his own MFD swag.”
