Service planned for Watson native Eva McEwen, 85

Eva June McEwen, 85, of Allegan, died Monday, Sept. 24,  at her home.

Born June 10, 1933 in Watson Township, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Hazel (VanHouten) Brown and was the wife of the late Leon McEwen. Mrs. McEwen was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading.

Mrs. McEwen is survived by her children, Vickie Moore and husband Benjamin, Becky Robertson, Jim McEwen and Deb Ostrowski and husband Steve; sisters, Neva Wallace, Helen Wallace and Joyce Kolbeck; grandchildren, Mike and wife Anna, Rob, Cara and husband Tim, Cyndie, Chad, Chris, Kayla, Ryan, Caitlin and Mark; and great-grandchildren, Brookelyn, Jonathan, Matt, Bella, Lily and Ethan.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Bernard Brown, Raymond Brown and Jean Blair.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Gorden Funeral Residence in Allegan. A funeral  will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Gruss officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
