Service will be Saturday for Crosswind charter member

Beverly “Bev” Otis Rearick, age 86, of Caledonia, a founding member of the Crosswinds Church in Dorr, died Sunday, Feb. 25. She was 86.

She was born March 13, 1937, in Bloomingdale to the late Fredrick and Dorothy (Teal) Bartlam, she had a heart of gold, enjoyed playing card games, and was an avid puzzle maker.

Besides being a founding member of Crosswind Community Churchshe was an active member of ‘Red Hats’ Society.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Rearick Jr.; children, Daniel (Deborah) Otis, Scott (Carrie) Otis and Kimberly Otis; daughter-in-law, Linda Otis; step-son, Kenneth (Sharon) Rearick and several other step-children; grandchildren, Mary (Wes Thrasher) Mattingly, Jamie (Shannon) Cole, Benjamin (Heather) Otis, Keith (Becky) Otis, Lynelle (Erik Bowersox) Otis, Phillip (Amanda) Otis, Corey (Erin) Otis, Kyle (Riley Cooke) Otis, Emily (Morgan) Hennessee, Lindsay (Joseph Reid) Watkins, Autumn (Shane) Gibson, Gabriel (Kassandra) Watkins, Ashton (Jenna Vincenty-Cole) Watkins, Zachery (Mary) Orns, Kristina (Scott Salyards) Orns, Sean O’Brien, Craig (Veronica) O’Brien, Eric (Kim) O’Brien, Kyle O’Brien, Ryan (Kayla) Rearick and Adam Rearick; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Keith Bartlam; sister, Diane (Gary) Jones; and scores of other relatives and friends.

Bev was preceded in death by her husbands, Keith Otis and Henry Cornhill; son, Michael Otis; brother, Arthur Bartlam; and sister-in-law, Kathryn Bartlam.

The family will greet visitors Saturday, March 2, at Cornerstone Church, 1675 84th Street SE, Caledonia, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m.
