Service Saturday for Hilliards dairy farmer Rose Jones

Rose (Rewa) Jones of 4070529_300x300_1Dorr Township (Hilliards), died Sunday, March 8. She was 93.

Rose was born to Fred and Mary Rewa on March 28, 1921, in Salem Township. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence “Sam” Jones and son John “Scott” Jones.

Rose and Sam owned and operated a dairy farm in Monterey Township. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Rose is survived by her daughter Wilma Darlene (Marvin) Pogodzinski of Hilliards and daughter-in-law Gloria Jones of Holland; her grandchildren: Kelly (Dr. Jeff) Lopez of Ashland, KY, Kevin (Jenifer) Pogodzinski of Hilliards, Steven Pogodzinski of Grand Rapids, Todd Jones of Grand Rapids, Patti (Kurt) Stoetzner of Grand Rapids, five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and her special cousin Fr. Don Weber.

Friends may gather with Rose’s family from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 4330 18th Street, Dorr, where a rosary will be held at 5  p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, with Father Don Weber, Father Harold Potter and Deacon Russ Pogodzinski presiding, with an hour of visitation prior to Mass. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rose may be made to St. Stanislaus Building Fund, Great Lakes Hospice, or charity of choice.
