Betty L. (VanHoven) VanderMeer, age 94, died Tuesday, March 20.
She was a long time resident of Gun Lake, and a former owner of Shady Shores Resort.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; and her sisters, Elzina and Esther. Betty is survived by her children, Jane VanderMeer, Carol Schut, Robert (Vicki) VanderMeer, Jeff (Maryann) VanderMeer; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara DeHoek-Twin, Linda (Boyd) Berends; and many nieces and nephews.
The family greeted visitors Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St., where the service was to begin at 3 p.m. with Rev. Lew VanderMeer, officiating. Interment in Kent Memorial Gardens.
