David Victor “Curly” Wright, 53, of Pierson, formerly of Wayland, died Thursday, May 14, at his home.
Born in Grand Rapids on Dec. 12, 1961, he married Caren L. Cook on Sept. 16, 2000, and he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson either alongside his wife and with family and friends, as well as bow and rifle hunting, whitewater rafting, camping, and quiet walks through the woods. He attended Resonate Church in Newaygo.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Caren Wright of Pierson; a daughter, Jenifer Wright of Cadillac; a son, Jesse Wright of Pierson; step-daughters, Coriene “Cori” Casteel and Kaytlyn Casteel; step-sons, Sean (Kristina) Santoni, Jason Gaylord, Trenton Gaylord, and Kirtess Gaylord; brother, Steven (Jill) Wright; and sister, Denise (David) Gerou.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Rae (Bistodeau) Zylstra; and by a brother, Robert Henry Zylstra.
Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave. S.E. at 36th Street, Grand Rapids (one block west of Eastern Avenue), where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday.
