
Dale Charles Overzet, age 84, of Dorr, died Sunday, March 9.
Dale loved hunting, fishing, and camping with friends. He enjoyed spending winters in Bradenton, Fla., where he played in shuffleboard tournaments, listened to country and polka music, and drove around in his golf cart. He also enjoyed meeting up with his friends from high school (Wayland Union), going to the Moose for music and cards and to the Dorr American Legion for food, fellowship and fun.
Dale served his country in the United States Navy and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Overzet; children Idanne (Gary) Bremer, Luanne Brink, Larry Overzet; grandchildren Dillon Bremer, Ryan Bremer, Jordan Brink, Haley (Andrew) Ketchum; great-grandchild, Emma; siblings Jack (Sue) Overzet, Julie (Denny) Walsh; nieces and nephews Gary (Michelle) Overzet, Lori Walsh; great-niece and nephew, Callan and Mara.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Grada Overzet.
A memorial service celebrating Dale’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2025 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Dorr Chapel), 4330 18th St., with visitation one hour prior. A luncheon will be hosted by the Dorr American Legion following the service where military honors will be rendered.
Dale will be laid to rest privately by the family at Jamestown Cemetery. In memory of Dale and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Visitation Catholic Church.
