Wayland High School graduate Carley Ione Guidebeck, age 86, of Comstock Park, died at home Thursday, Dec. 14.

She was born June 24, 1937, in Plainwell, and graduated from Wayland Union High School in 1955. Carley married William Dean Guidebeck on Aug. 7, 1954, at Wayland Calvary Church.

She was a dedicated homemaker and raised their two children, Dean and Renee’ with her husband, Bill. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, counseling and praying with friends.

Carley was a secretary and enjoyed traveling over the years. Carley and her husband Bill were Missionaries at Broken Arrow Bible Camp, a Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, serving with their time and talents in various ways.

She is survivedby her husband of 69 years, William Dean “Bill” Guidebeck; son, Dean Russell Guidebeck; daughter, Renee’ Guidebeck-Gunnink; grandchildren, Selena Martin, Jennifer Howland, Rebecca Estella, Bethany Guidebeck; great-grandchildren, Chase Ezell, Madison and Devan Little, Lucas Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Alonna Howland, Lilia Robinson, Marcellus and Rileigh Hare, Tionna Hare, Isaiah Hare, Isaac Hare, Miriam Hare, Simeon Hare, Quinn Hare, Silas Hare; great-great-grandchildren, Willow Hare, Wells Hare, Stella Grace Little; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy S. and Maude Bush; son-in-law, Ervin Gunnink; siblings, Dorothy Bush, Margaret Gates, Rosalie Abernethy, Raymond D. Bush, Patricia Jones.

Funeral services are pending and will be announced at a future date.
