Services scheduled for Saturday for Bud Higbee, 85, of Dorr

photo_20150528_WM0039946_0_higbee_20150528Ruben “Bud” E. Higbee, age 85 of Dorr, died May 27.

Bud was a wood worker at Grand Rapids Dowel Works. He was a member of the Wyoming Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He volunteered in Dorr at Project Hope and the Dorr Library. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, doing puzzles and reading.

Bud is survived by his wife of 46 years Mary Higbee; his children: Gary and Peggy McCourry, Denise Greenbauer, Rick McCourry, Tamara and Edward Hodge; his grandchildren: LaQuan and Larry Fisher, Ray McCourry, Ryan and Lisa Greenbauer, Bradley and Jessica Greenbauer, Michaela McCourry, Kaitlyn McCourry, Nicholas McCourry, Matthew Chapman, Jaycob Chapman, Dylan Chapman, Mark Chapman, Danielle Chapman, and Krystal Hodge; his great-grandchildren Gianna Hodge and McKenzie Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron Higbee and Lydia (Tinkham) Kopen; brothers and sisters: William Higbee, Vivian Gort, Simone Hopp, Frances Jean McMillan, and Howard Higbee.

Friends may gather with his family from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 4330 18th Street, Dorr, where his service will be at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Dorr Cemetery.
