Services set for Friday for Dawn Shoemaker of Hopkins

Dawn M. Shoemaker, aged 86, of Hopkins, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and more, died Friday, Aug. 2, in Wyoming.

Dawn was born June 3, 1933 to Robert M. and Lelah M. Pillsbury, Sr. in Albion. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. John Shoemaker; daughter-in-law, Sharon Shoemaker; her parents; brother, Robert Pillsbury Jr.; brother William Pillsbury, Sr. and sister-in-law, Mary Pillsbury.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Laura) Shoemaker, Joel (Clarine) Shoemaker, Martin (Sandra) Shoemaker; daughter, Anita (Mark) Buckowing; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and her brother, James (Ilene) Pillsbury; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at Stroo Funeral Home on 68th Street, Cutlerville. A private family interment will be in Gaines Cemetery at a future date. The family will greet relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and on Friday from 1 to 2 pm at Stroo Funeral Home.
