Services will be Saturday evening for Barbara Edema, 47, of Wayland

photo_20150520_WM0039236_0_barb_edema__pic_20150520Barbara M. (Patin) Edema, age 47, died Sunday, May 17, after a valiant fight with illness.

Barb grew up in Sand Lake and moved to Wayland after marrying Terry, the love of her life. They met at work, fell in love, and have spent their lives happily together since with their three sons, riding horses, four-wheeling, family camping. She took part in annual horseback riding trips with all her Saddle Sore Sisters.

Having grown up on a farm, she was a very hard worker and enjoyed her work life as well, having worked the last 17 years at Swoboda.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Terry Edema; children Dillion Edema, Dalton (Ashlin) Edema, Dakota Edema; one grandchild on the way; father Tony Patin; siblings Mary (Carl) Skelonc, Marilyn (Scott) Barton, Dianne (Tim) Newton, Mike (Ann) Patin, John (Sara) Patin, Sharon Walkowski; many loved in-laws and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Patin.

Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 8 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St SW, Byron Center. A Vigil Mass of Pentecost with the Rite of Reception of the Body and the Final Commendation will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Mary Queen of Apostles Parish Catholic Church, 1 W Maple St., Sand Lake, MI 49343. Rev. Lam T. Le will be officiating. Interment will be at Saint Mary Cemetery, Sand Lake.
