Yankee Springs Township, Wayland and Orangeville Township firefighters spent a great deal of time Monday afternoon and evening battling a structure fire on Parker Drive in Yankee Springs Township.

A spokesperson for Yankee Springs and Wayland posted on Facebook today, “We would like to thank the firefighters from the following departments for their hard work and dedication in the structure fire this evening in Yankee Springs Twp. — Wayland/Yankee Springs Twp., Orangeville Twp. Vol. Fire Dept., Martin Twp. Fire Dept., Hastings Fire Dept. for delivering the Air Trailer to the scene and filling the SCBA Tanks, Wayland Area EMS for standing by and doing rehab, Allegan and Barry County Central Centers for handling all radio traffic, etc., Consumers Energy for responding and securing the natural gas service, Great Lakes Energy for securing the electric service, Barry County Sheriff’s Dept. for assistance with traffic, Leighton Twp. Fire Dept. for moving up into the Wayland Station, Service Master of Kalamazoo for securing the home after the fire.”

There were no personal injuries reported.
