Six new buses purchased, delivered to Wayland Union Schools

Wayland Union Schools purchased New Busessix new buses, which were delivered this week to the Transportation Building.

The cost to purchase the buses was $165,000 over a three-year period using $43,000/year from the general fund and $122,000/year from the casino fund. Additional buses were needed to replace aging buses and to alleviate overcrowding.

The 77 passenger buses are equipped with a Pro-Vision camera system with HD, improved gear ratios for fuel economy, and automatic idle shut off.

The buses have two additional side emergency exit windows compared to two on previous models and two roof hatches.  They also have a seven-year warranty.
