The Allegan County Snowmobile and ORV Association is warning outdoor winter sports enthusiasts that at least four inches of snow is needed for safe travel on trails.
The trails are still closed.
A spokeperson said, “Until we have a four-inch base (four inches of packed snow), the trail will remain closed. People are already riding and ripping up private property. This is not OK. The sheriff and DNR are watching the trails. You will be fined for trespassing on a closed trail. Hopefully, later next week we will have more snow to open the trails. Please be patient.”
