The sixth annual Fall Fun Fest 2014291731_10210123775070801_348715462273834361_n16 is planned for 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, but the Wayland City Council Monday night approved a request to extend closing hours on South Main Street 11 p.m.

The council approved a request from Bruce Patrick, proprietor of Daily Brews and Open Road Brewery for a temporary encroachment to allow a band to play until 10 p.m. and have the tent on the street shut down at 11. The street would be reopened to traffic at midnight.

Patrick said that if the weather is uncooperative, the site will be moved across the street to the library lot.

Police Chief Steve Harper said, “We could just shut down South Main and open up East and West Superior (to through traffic).

The annual Fall fest promises fun for the whole family all afternoon including trick or treating, a chili cook-off, live music, hayrides, a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, craft fair, book sale and local food vendors. Many downtown businesses also will be featuring fun activities.

You really need to proofread. Quite a typo in the 4th paragraph.
