Brett Dame, 27, a 2010 Wayland High School graduate, died Saturday, Aug. 24.
Brett had a deep love for every human he connected with and his passion for music never wavered. He started playing guitar in elementary school. With every instrument he picked up and played, his soul’s voice sang through. In the wise words of Bob Dylan, “At times in my life, the only place I have been happy is when I am on stage.”
He was the happiest when playing music, reading a book, learning new things, and soaking up every ounce of knowledge he could. He was happiest holding a beer in his hand, laughing, and enjoying life with his friends.

He is survived by his mother, Sarah; his father, Dennis; his brothers Dan & Ryan; his sister Stephanie; and niece, Aleigha.

He was preceded in death by younger brother Evan.
His family is celebrating his life from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Caledonia Lake Side Park.
