Roger Brown

Roger Brown, one of the founding members of the Scottish folk rock group Stealer’s Wheel, will be guest performer at a benefit concert in Burnips next week.

Local musician and music promoter Luke Lenhart said the concert at 7 p.m. Thursday Oct. 18, at the Salem Township Hall, will benefit the local food pantry.

Brown and comrades formed the now defunct group in 1972 as a sort of European version of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. The group scored on the American music charts in August and September of 1973 with their hit, “Stuck in the Middle with You.”

Brown also has recorded with Beatles great Ringo Starr.

He will be joined by local musicians Bernie SteffesBeverly LenhartJohn BrownNelson Wood and Fred Willson.
