Baker and Steeby Elementary students finished up their “Kids Heart Challenge” this month. Steeby had a goal of $7,000 and ended up raising $9,777. Baker had a goal of $11,000 and managed to raise $13,385. Mrs. Ashley Smith and Mrs. Jocelyn Merchant, physical education teachers for the elementary buildings, celebrated the success of the fund-raiser with a silly string and Jimmy John’s party. They said they feel grateful for the community’s support in raising awareness for the cause, the American Heart Association.
