Storms, including tornadoes, visit West Michigan again

It’s been a busy and dangerous spring thus far in West Michigan, and Tuesday night and Wednesday morning the inclement weather came a calling again. Otsego and Plainwell areas in southern Allegan County were hit the hardest, as tornadoes were reported, along with serious damage and power outages.

Plainwell and Otsego schools, along with Martin Public Schools were closed Wednesday because they had no power. There were no reports of fatalities. A tree was reported down and blocking traffic on Fifth Street near Martin. Most of the wind and rain visited during the dark hours.

Areas north and east of Grand Rapids Rapids also were affected, including Montcalm County and Carson City. Shown here is the back yards of Allegan County Democratic Party Chair Jill Dunham. in Plainwell.
