Christian Look and his grandmother, Linda Hill, this week continued their “Stuffs of Cheer” tradition of six years by giving away stuffed animals to clients at The Laurels at Sandy Creek.

“It all started six years ago when my grandson and I were talking,” Ms. Hill explained. “He asked what happens at Christmas with elderly people in nursing homes. From that short conversation the project, ‘Stuffs of Cheer’ started. We began collecting stuffed animals throughout the year through our own purchasing and some greatly appreciated donations.”

So each year, for the past six years, the two make a stuffed animal delivery to Sandy Creek. And each year the number of stuffed animals increases.

“The residents are so happy to get a Christmas animal and visit with us,” Ms. Hill said. “A story we were told this year from one of the residents is that last year a lady, who we given a stuffed teddy bear, kept her teddy bear near her until the day she passed away. It’s stories like that that touches your heart so deeply. It takes so little to make someone happy.”
