The Wayland Board of Education was told Monday night by Finance Director Bill Melching, “We’re trying to reach out to the areas with the most need, but we’re just not getting the numbers we were hoping for… We’ll evaluate the program at the end of the year.”

The program is funded by a grant for which the Wayland district was eligible because of numbers applying for free and reduced price luncheons and breakfasts. It is administered by Melching and Food Services Director Sarah Parr Hawkins.

The series, which sometimes features a special presentation, will continue for the rest of the month and Sept. 1 and 2.
