Sycamore Elementary named by state as Reward School

Sycamore Elementary School, part of the Hopkins Public School District, has been identified as a Reward School by the Michigan Department of Education.

A Reward School is one that has achieved one or more of the following distinctions: top 5% of schools on the Top-to-Bottom School Rankings, top 5% of schools making the greatest gains in achievement (improvement metric), or “Beating the Odds” by outperforming the school’s predicted ranking and/or similar schools.

Principal Amy Mielke in her annual report posted on the district website, said, “We are proud of our programs at Sycamore Elementary and are committed to continuous improvement based on research-based professional decisions, data analysis, and increased rigor. We appreciate the continued support of parents, staff, and our community in this effort.”
